"We ate 5 dishes, all fish based: they were excellent, exceptional and particularly fresh. They revisited some of the traditional tapas enhancing them: mixing Mediterranean fish with asian sauces or latin american preparations makes this place unique. Prices are honest, considering the quality of the preparations it is very cheap. Well done!"

"By the local market, Bar la 42 offers you high quality tuna with interesting flavors. You can try all the good parts of the tuna in tapas portion at very reasonable prices. Tarantelo, secreto, tuna heart, tuna eggs, sashimi, tiradito, you name it. Only 8 tables but totally worth ti. Go closer to 13:00 and you will find your spot."

"Bar 42, en el Mercado de Abastos de Barbate, es una joya del buen comer gaditano. Cada plato celebra al atún rojo en su punto perfecto: del sashimi al secreto ibérico de facera, pasando por la tosta de corazón y el tarantelo a la plancha. La cocina combina técnica, producto y alma marinera. El gallo frito y las huevas son pura tradición, y el montadito de chipirones con pan de sepia, un guiño creativo. Todo acompañado de una Cruzcampo helada y un servicio cercano. Mención especial a Eva. Ya tenemos “SAUDADE”. Un templo donde el sabor y la autenticidad se dan la mano."
